You can’t win Lagos in 2023, APC Chieftain tells PDP

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Moshood Salvador, has ruled out the possibility of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winning the state in 2023. Salvador, a former state PDP Chairman, made the statement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday. He described the recent statement made by Mr Adedeji Doherty, the state PDP Chairman, that the party would dislodge the APC in 2023 as a pipe dream. International Monetary Fund revises Ghana’s growth rate for 2020 at 5.6%

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised Ghana’s growth rate for 2020 at 5.6 percent. This represents a 0.4 percent decrease compared to the forecast of 6.0 percent in 2019 The figure is also against World Bank’s 6.8% which will make Ghana the 3rd fastest growing economy in Sub Saharan Africa. IMF said this in its January 2020 World Economic Outlook Report it published on Monday, January 20, 2019. According to the report, the 5.6% Gross Domestic Product is, however, higher than Sub Saharan Africa average growth rate of 3.5 percent in 2020–21, from 3.3 percent in 2019. “But, in 2020 and 2021, the growth rate is forecast at low 4.0% and 3.7% respectively. Nigeria's outstanding public debt stands at $72.27 billion

Nigeria’s public debt stock climbed to $72.27 billion in September 2019.Breakdown shows Nigeria's domestic debt accounts for $49.45 billion( N17.94 trillion), while external debt stood at $22.8 billion ( N8.27 trillion).The country's total debt as a percentage of GDP was 18.47%% as of September 2019, well within the limit of 25%%. Nigeria border closure: Government of Ghana to compensate affected businesses
